For the second time the Council of Europe held in the Middle East a course for the human rights education, the first time was in Amman, Jordan, however this time was here in Alexandria, Egypt.

Pour la 2eme fois le Conseil d'Europe a tenu ici au Moyen Orient un stage pour l'éducation des droits humains, la 1re fois était à Amman, Jordanie, mais cette fois était ici à Alexandrie, Egypte.

There was a good collaboration in between the Council of Europe represented in the directorate of the youth and sport and the Swedish Institute for Dialogue here in Alexandria the last where this important event had been adopted from 1-9 April 2006.

Il y'avait une bonne collaboration entre le Conseil d'Europe représenté en le Directorat de la Jeunesse et du Sport et l'Institut d'Suède pour le Dialogue en Alexandrie, le dernier qui a adopté cet événement important de 1-9 Avril 2006.

There were about 30 participants as activists had been selected after a very strong screening process which had taken place couple of months before the event, not only that but also they were representing different associations and states in both Mid-East and North Africa (MENA) region and Europe in respect: Albania, Belgium, Egypt, France, Finland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Syria and Yemen.

Il y'avait presque 30 participants ainsi des activistes ceux qui sont nominés après un procès très fort de la nomination qui a passé 2 mois déjà l'événement, pas seulement ça mais encore ils ont représenté des associations et des pays différents dans la région du Moyen Orient et Nord Afrique (MONA) et l'Europe respectivement: Albanie, Belgique, Egypte, France, Finlande, Israël, Italie, Jordanie, Liban, Libye, Malta, Maroc, Palestine, Portugal, Syrie et Yémen.

The main targets of that course were using and applying the Compass guideline (the material of study that had been accomplished due the efforts of many academicians, activists and professors representing both Euro-Med states and others in North America in order to help and assist trainers even if they don't have a background in the filed of human rights to get the right information about that and also can use it in their human rights training easily), disseminating the culture of the human rights among the younger generation in the represented countries, building bridges of cooperation due establishing the networks among the participated human rights NGOs through creating common projects for that target and finally the intercultural dialogue among each other and recognize more each other.

Les buts principaux de ce stage étaient l'utilisation et l'application de Compas (le sujet d'étude celui est accompli selon les efforts des académiciens, des activistes et des professeurs représentent les états Euro-Méds et des autres au Nord Amérique pour aider et assister les formateurs même si ils n'ont pas un plan d'arrière au champ des droits humains pour prendre les vrais informations et encore pour utiliser compas facilement dans leur formation), disséminer la culture des droits humains parmi la génération de la jeunesse dans les pays ceux qui déjà mentionnés, créer les ponts de la coopération selon l'innovation des réseaux parmi les ONGs participants au stage à travers la création des projets communs pour le même but et finalement le dialogue interculturelle parmi nous (les participants) et reconnaître bien l'un l'autre.
The Council of Europe supplied a team of facilitators and moderators whom had been collected from different Arab regions in order to give this course in Arabic because the majority of the participants were Arabs or at least from Arab origins.

Le Conseil d'Europe a fourni un équipe des facilitateurs et modérateurs ceux qui sont collectés des régions Arabes différentes afin de donner ce stage en Arabe parce que la majorité des participants étaient Arabes ou au moins des origines Arabes.

Due the course we dealt with different important topics e.g. the culture of human rights concerning the conventions and the agreements of the human rights ratified from the side of Arab states, AIDS awareness, leadership skills, citizenship, women actualization, refugees and discrimination through using some activities of compass especially the simulation's models which had given the majority and fixed the needed information in order to raise their consciousness about those topics to apply it successfully in their societies.

Selon le stage on a traité avec des topiques différentes et importantes e.g. la culture des droits humains concernant les conventions et les agréments ratifiés du coté Arabe, la conscience de SIDA, les capacités de la direction, la citoyenneté, l'actualisation de la femme, les réfugiés et en fin la discrimination à travers l'utilisation des quelques activités de Compas surtout les modèles de simulation qui ont donné la majorité et fixé les informations essentielles afin de développer leur conscience concernant ces topiques pour appliquer ça parfaitement aux leurs communautés.

Both the participants and the team of facilitation and the organizers shared in preparing the associations' display night in order to recognize each other's associations more and more, the target of each association and the possibility of making cooperation, not only that but also there was a cultural night to show each other the different foods, clothes, music and traditions of each participant's state, actually it was very important because the Arab participants could recognize at least their equivalents in the other Pan-Arab states.

Tous les participants et l'équipe de la facilitation et les organiseurs ont partagé en réparant la nuit de l'exposition des associations afin de reconnaître plus les associations l'unes l'autres, l'objet de chaque association et la possibilité pour faire une coopération, pas seulement ça mais encore il y'avait une nuit culturelle pour exposer les cultures de l'un l'autre les cuisines différentes, les habits, les musiques et les traditions de chaque état participant, actuellement elle était importante parce que les participants arabes pouvaient reconnaître au moins leurs équivalents dans les autres états arabes.

In the middle of the course there was a free day in order to explore the city, also to have some relaxation after very long hard working days, actually we could visit both the Bibliotheca Alexandrian "the cultural portal of Egypt" and the Montazah Gardens, some preferred to go shopping in down town, really there was no enough time to recognize more and more the heritage of Alexandria.

Au moyen du stage il y'avait un jour férié pour explorer la cité, encore pour faire une relaxation après les très longs jours de travail dur, actuellement on pouvait visiter la Bibliothèque Alexandrine "le portail culturel d'Egypte" et les Jardins de Montazah, quelque uns ont préféré aller au centre ville pour faire des achats, vraiment il ne y'avait pas beaucoup de temps pour reconnaître plus le patrimoine d'Alexandrie.

The day before the last day there was an opportunity to meet the representatives of some global and domestic NGOs e.g. Anna Lindh foundation, Nassige Association and Arab Reform Forum that belongs to Bibliotheca Alexandrina, they talked about the possibilities of having cooperation or supplying funds for projects that belongs to the theme of the course, but frankly speaking some conditions and terms were very difficult and taking very long time especially when we talk about (2+2 system of Anna Lindh foundation) even though the fund is not so big.

Le jour avant dernier il y'avait une opportunité pour rencontre les représentants des quelques ONGs globales et domiciles e.g. La Fondation Anna Lindh, Nassige et le Forum de la Réforme Arabe de la BibAlex, leur parole a souligné les possibilités de la collaboration ou fournir les fonds nécessaires ceux qui conviennent au thème du stage, mais vraiment quelques conditions étaient très difficiles et prennent très long temps surtout quand nous parlons de (2+2 système d'Anna Lindh) toutefois le fond n'est pas riche.

The last day really was a very busy day, because each association or a group of associations or individuals should submit a project that belongs human rights dissemination, not only that doing the final evaluation of this session, receiving the certificates and finally the farewell party after the dinner at the hotel.

Le dernier jour vraiment était très chargé, parce que chaque association ou un group des associations ou les individus doivent soumettre un projet celui qui lié à la dissémination des droits humains, pas seulement ça mais encore faire l'évaluation finale de cette session, recevoir les certificats et finalement le bal pour faire les adieux après le dîner à l'hôtel.

Finally we should thank both the council of Europe and the Swedish institute for supplying us this opportunity, right now each working on accomplishing the proposed projects so the council of Europe promised that next session there will be an evaluation of this perfect experience for all.
