Researchers in the European
knowledge-based society The initiative is organised by: the Sofia University of St- Kliment Ohridski, Angel Kanchev University of Rousse, the Technical University of Varna and the universities of Trahia and Plovdiv, from June to November 2005 The coalition of Bulgarian universities is organising a series of actions aimed at increasing awareness of the role of researchers in the knowledge-based society. Policy-makers, researchers and industrialists will come together in regional level seminars to discuss success stories, surveys and case studies during a week-long awareness-building campaign. Public discussion on the role of researchers will be further stimulated through the national media, with articles in the national press and a monthly television broadcast.
