Cities of knowledge, territories of the benchlearning of innovation and identity

Laura Garcia Vitoria

Many are in Europe aujourd today the local authorities which recently developed programs of cities of knowledge. With the c?ur such a step aiming at obviously developing new relationship between knowledge and territories, many are the concerns which we meet: economic development of intelligence and territorial attractivity, reflexion - with reverse - on the potential mutualisations knowledge to make making it possible to avoid the delocalization of certain activities indeed and obviously installation of process innovation - technological very as much as sociétale -. In a general way, a prospective glance on future of our communities proves essential at hour when our companies took practice to decline with the future their own present - even their daily newspaper - and this with through in particular of gates of formation and multiple processes of division of knowledge.

However, so that such steps can develop, it is a major condition to fill which lies in a true management of territorial identity. Without the taking into account of the cultural horizons which are those of our territories, the majority of these programs would be clearly dedicated to failure: there it does not act of anything a vision by too "intellectual" of their development insofar as, quite to the contrary, the forward setting of the memory carried by the local authorities meets undeniable economic interests through development for example of virtual museums and a setting in line of the patrimonial referents, pledges in particular of new forms of tourism of the memory. Moreover, the elà even of the prospective programs and the installation of strategies identitaires for the territorial development, such a step very often allows the creation of small innovating companies and a considerable technological reflexion in the training area of the various actors.

We thus wish in our intervention to show dabord and before very that technological futurology and management of identity go hand in hand and it is completely essential for the local actors, economic, educational and cultural simultaneously to combine them in development of the strategies of development of territories of knowledge: there the follow-up of the majority of the projects and European achievements on the matter show us even it acts a major specificity of numerical economy. http://www.arenotech.org
